2020 Ford Explorer
2020 Ford Explorer : The revival
The Ford Explorer is the large sport utility par excellence of the Ford family. It has sold more than 10 million copies over the years and is totally renewed in 2020. Not only does it offer a new, more rigid platform, but also a brand new engine configuration, a set of advanced technologies, and any of the five versions on the menu, from the most utilitarian to the sportiest ST. As it should be, this large vehicle with family pretentions also offers increased safety, and a standard all-wheel drive system.
The new power
Under the hood of this 2020 Ford Explorer, Ford hid, at choice, one of the most efficient engines in the category. The entry-level versions feature a 4 cylinders 2.3-liter 300 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque engine, paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. An optional 3.0-liter V6 365 horsepower engine is also available, while the ST version features a real monster: another 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, but with 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. For the first time, the 2020 Ford Explorer is also available with a hybrid engine.
Techno and safe
In terms of safety, the 2020 Ford Explorer has the most sophisticated elements. It receives the CoPilot 360, an on-board safety package that includes the blind spot detector, track monitoring, pre-collision assistance and the rearview camera. The optional CoPilot360 + package adds features like intelligent cruise control and steering assistance. In terms of comfort, the Explorer also innovates with the Sync 3 systems displayed in an 8-inch central screen or, optionally, on a 10-inch touch screen.
