2023 Ford Escape, a sophisticated update

Ford's new SUV, the Escape 2023 model, adds numerous options and technologies in addition to its ST-Line trim. Drivers can still choose between two internal combustion engine options and hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains on the seven available models. Multiple engine choices

The 2023 Ford Escape still offers three engine options: the 1.5-litre 3-cylinder, the 2.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder, and the 2.5-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder on the plug-in hybrid version. The new ST-Line model is available with a 180-horsepower, 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine available in either front- or all-wheel drive or a 200-horsepower hybrid. For a more powerful driving experience, the Escape ST-Line Select and Elite models can be equipped with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine with up to 250 horsepower available in either all-wheel drive or a hybrid powertrain.

A modern look

What differentiates the Ford Escape from its previous edition is the front and rear ends of the vehicle. Its silhouette is more squared off and muscular, and it's somewhat similar to the Ford Edge. The headlights on the front of the crossover are less wide and connected by a band of fog lights. The grille has more relief and is more oval. Air intakes have also been added on each side of the SUV. In addition to refreshing its design, Ford is integrating new body colours and new 18-inch wheels. The metallic look will be in the spotlight for the 2023 Escape: cinnabar red, astral white and speed red.

Versatility at all levels

The integration of a 13.2-inch SYNC 4 multimedia interface now allows for remote updating and syncing of the FordPass mobile app. Good news for MyKey technology: it's also integrated into the app. All trims (Active, ST-Line and PHEV) have standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless connectivity. The Co-Pilot360 driver assistance technology that includes intersection assistance and improves the effectiveness of the blind spot detector has also been updated.

The new ST-Line

This new variant of the 2023 Escape is more elegant and sophisticated. The interior and exterior styling has a little something extra: a new optional full-width LED light bar, a black grille, a rear spoiler, a sleek and modern interior in black or space gray with red stitching and sport seats and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
